Lifestyle, Exercise, & Arteries Lab

Evaluating evidence-based strategies for improving arterial health in ways that work for real people
Women stretching
About

The Lifestyle, Exercise, & Arteries (LEA) Lab focuses on the effects of lifestyle behaviors, e.g., exercise, physical activity, sedentary behavior, sleep, psychosocial stress, nutrition, and lactation, on arterial and cardiometabolic health. Our research is informed by population-level associations of lifestyle and cardiometabolic outcomes, such as risk factors, heart disease, and diabetes. The lab anchors on these findings to define mechanisms underlying associations and/or intervene on cardiometabolic health. Most investigations are focused on females around reproductive events like pregnancy and menopause. We account for multiple lifestyle factors.
