Strategic Environmental Decision-Making
This research area focuses on how sport managers make sense of, prioritize, and operationalize sustainability initiatives within competitive and resource-constrained environments. Drawing on institutional theory, strategic management, and behavioral decision-making frameworks, projects in this stream examine how environmental goals are integrated into broader organizational KPIs—such as brand equity, fan satisfaction, operational efficiency, and sponsor alignment. We engage in case study research, policy analysis, and the co-development of decision-support tools (e.g., prioritization matrices, materiality assessments, risk-opportunity dashboards). These outputs directly inform strategy development and resource allocation processes within sport properties.
