Ongoing Project:

Project title: Sustaining Quality Physical Education for Healthy Kids (2023-2025)
Source: R-2304-151978, 2023 Nutrition and Healthy Lifestyles, Michigan Health Endowment Fund.
Award: $200,000

The primary goals of this proposed project are twofold: 1) to empower physical education teachers’ content knowledge, pedagogical skills, and dispositions for implementing technology-enhanced quality physical education (Smart-QPE) by engaging physical education teachers in professional development (PD) activities across Michigan; and 2) To help over 7,000 students in grades 3-8 become physically active and fit, mentally healthy, and socially and emotionally competent kids through participating in the Professional Empowerment 4 Student Outcomes (PE4SO) at 20 schools in rural, urban, and suburban areas across Michigan.
