Development & Alumni Engagement
The Development & Alumni Engagement team works to engage alumni and friends in the mission of the School of Kinesiology through cultivation of charitable support, attendance at events, connection to students and faculty, advisory opportunities, and more. Reporting to the dean, the team works closely with faculty and staff to identify emerging priorities and needs for the school, and to match those priorities to donor interests.

Faculty Affairs
Finance, Planning & Operations
The Finance, Planning & Operations (FPO) Division supports all aspects of financial planning and management, human resources, business intelligence, IT, and facilities and operations in support of excellence in education and research. FPO is the primary administrative unit in the School of Kinesiology, reporting directly to the dean while collaborating with the school's leadership team, academic program chairs, and research labs and centers.

Analytics & Information Technology
The Analytics & Information Technology team provides data and technology services and support within Kinesiology. It is the primary technology unit, collaborating with U-M’s central ITS groups while also designing, implementing, and supporting solutions that are specific to Kinesiology. Products and services include computers and hardware, software licenses, audio/video technology, reporting, data storage, application development, and analysis.

Facilities & Operations
The Facilities & Operations team provides leadership and resources in support of the school’s teaching and research mission. Facilities staff are responsible for a wide variety of services that ensure our physical environment functions as designed to support the work of Kinesiology faculty, staff, and students. Operations staff support processes that enable our community to maximize the use of our physical resources as well as emergency planning and training efforts for the Kinesiology community.

Finance & Internal Controls
The Finance & Internal Controls team handle financial reporting for the school budget and budget holders, year-end close out and upload, and financial projections. Human Resources
The Human Resources (HR) team manages personnel-related matters within the school's academic and administrative environment to support the needs of our faculty, staff, and students. Internally, we oversee tasks including recruitment and hiring processes, benefits/payroll, employee record management, staff development and training, and more. Our team also acts as a bridge between the school and other university offices to ensure adherence to HR policies. This dual role underscores our commitment to nurturing a professional, efficient, and supportive HR environment that contributes to the overall success of the school.

Graduate Student Affairs
The Office of Graduate Student Affairs (OGSA) advises Kinesiology's current and prospective graduate students (PhD, MS) on matters relating to admissions, orientation, registration, curriculum, and career planning. OGSA can also provide referrals for guidance and counseling, health issues and disabilities, financial concerns, and more. We provide support for faculty in regards to graduate student questions, concerns, and faculty advising. Our offices are located on the second floor of the School of Kinesiology Building in Suite 2300 (Student Affairs).

Research
The Research Administration team supports the development, review, implementation, and management of a sponsored project. This includes everything from preparing and submitting proposals, to assisting with award negotiation and acceptance through programmatic and financial compliance.
The Research & Instructional Operations (RIO) team supports the research and teaching laboratories in the school as well as the school’s shared spaces and equipment. RIO works closely with faculty user groups to purchase new equipment, support existing shared equipment, make modifications to space, and provide class lab support. This team organizes equipment installations, deliveries, trainings, and preventative maintenance visits for the school’s shared equipment and PI-owned equipment as needed. RIO also monitors safety items such as AEDs, eye wash stations, and yearly equipment certifications through EHS.
