Description

This course is about the organization of soccer around the world and in the U.S. The aim is to provide an overview of the economic and political institutions and explore the principles on which they are based. Within this context, the course will also address the position of U.S. soccer, and Major League soccer in particular, and debate the compatibility of the approach in the U.S. with the rest of the world.

This elective is specific to the SM Policy & Analytics Path (Path 2). All students must take at least three credits that are specific to their undeclared track.

Advisory: (SOC 210 or STATS 250 or STATS 280 or 400-level STATS course) and SM 238, SM 241, SM 249
