James Casey, PhD

James Casey is a clinical assistant professor of movement science at the University of Michigan School of Kinesiology. Born in Minnesota and raised in central Kansas, James has spent most of his time as a professional science educator. He taught high school science in the Chicago area for 14 years, and then taught animal and human physiology to pre-health students in the U-M Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology (MCDB) Department. James went back to school to earn his PhD in molecular and biochemical nutrition from the U-M School of Public Health in 2020. His dissertation focused on the identification of changes in metabolic patterns due to diet.
