About
Dr. Andrew Pearson is a clinical assistant professor of applied exercise science and movement science at the University of Michigan School of Kinesiology. He is an exercise physiologist with expertise in cerebral blood flow and blood pressure regulation in humans.
Dr. Pearson received his bachelor's degree in movement science from the University of Michigan. He completed his master's in exercise physiology at Eastern Michigan University, where he conducted research on the predictability of VO2max using Garmin sports watches, taught courses in exercise testing techniques, and taught laboratories in exercise physiology. Dr. Pearson then completed his PhD in kinesiology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he investigated cerebral blood flow and blood pressure regulation in adults at elevated risk of Alzheimer's disease and taught courses and laboratories in physiology and exercise physiology.
Dr. Pearson completed a postdoctoral research position at Marquette University investigating mechanisms of fatigability in people with prediabetes and type 2 diabetes. He then became a human health and performance engineer and subject matter expert in human physiology at Collins Aerospace in Houston, TX, where he worked on the next generation spacesuit for astronauts aboard the International Space Station.
