Hartwig Research Presentation with David Lipps
Dr. David Lipps, assistant professor of Movement Science and director of the Musculoskeletal Biomechanics & Imaging Laboratory, will present “Neuromuscular implications of managing breast cancer with mastectomy and breast reconstruction” on Friday, November 15 at 1:30 pm in Bickner Auditorium (3735 CCRB).
His talk will focus on how the mechanical properties of the shoulder are impacted by different therapeutic approaches for treating breast cancer and restoring the natural breast mound. Dr. Lipps will also explore neuromuscular adaptations patients adopt following treatment in order to gain new insights into potential muscle(s) to target for improving post-operative outcomes in breast cancer survivors.
A reception will follow.
