About
Joshua Mergos is a clinical associate professor in Movement Science and director of the Intraoperative Neuromonitoring (IONM) Program at the University of Michigan School of Kinesiology. After receiving a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering with a concentration in Neurophysiology at Wayne State University, he served as an intraoperative neuromonitorist in the U-M Department of Neurology.
Mergos developed the first CAAHEP-accredited IONM program in the world at the School of Kinesiology, and teaches IONM-specific courses. He has been invited to speak at national neurophysiological monitoring conferences, including the American Society of Neurophysiological Monitoring and the Southern Society of Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists. Mergos is also a member of several professional organizations, including the Committee on Accreditation for Education in Neurodiagnostic Technology and the American Society of Neurophysiological Monitoring.
