Health Sciences Advisory Board
The School of Kinesiology health sciences programs maintain an external advisory board to strengthen relationships with leaders across the field. Through these partnerships, the board supports the programs' commitment to delivering high-quality education that prepares students for success in ever-evolving health sciences careers.
Serving in an advisory capacity to faculty, the board offers valuable perspective on curriculum, emerging tends, and needs within the health sciences field and its many subdisciplines. Members also help connect students with the broader health sciences community by supporting opportunities for internships, experiential learning, mentorship, and professional networking.

Brian Bush, MBA

Brian Bush received his BA in sport management & communication in 1999 from the University of Michigan, where he was a four-year letterwinner in baseball. He was a 12th round draft pick by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 1999 MLB draft. After he retired from professional baseball, Bush completed his certification in neurophysiology intraoperative monitoring (CNIM) in 2004 and has been involved with intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring (IONM/IOM) and the field of neurophysiology ever since. He has worked in every type of healthcare setting, including the private sector, where he has gained a true passion for delivering patient care strategies that serve the various patient populations. Bush came back to U-M in 2009, where he rebuilt the in-house IOM service line at Michigan Medicine, working alongside many cohorts to establish an exclusively run in-house team. He then extended the IOM footprint into a partnership with the U-M School of Kinesiology, where the very first IOM academic program in the world was launched in 2013.
He went on to complete his MBA from Davenport University in 2016. Bush served as the senior manager for neurology and PM&R at Michigan Medicine, where he supports the IOM, EEG, epilepsy, EMG, and autonomic service lines. He has more than 20 years of experience in healthcare and has an extreme passion for strategies that promote high-quality patient care.
Monique Butler, MD, MBA

Dr. Monique Butler is chief medical officer of HCA Healthcare North Florida Division. She is responsible for the clinical operations and care excellence of 15 hospitals, ensuring that every patient and every family receives the highest level of care possible. Dr. Butler previously served as chief medical officer for HCA Healthcare Continental Division's Swedish Medical Center, a part of HCA's HealthONE, where she promoted a mission-driven approach to patient care with a team of 2,000 colleagues, 500 volunteers, and more than 1,400 physicians.

Joanna Holzman

Joanna Holzman has been an occupational therapist for 20 years. She went to the University of Michigan, studying movement science, after which she attended Washington University in St. Louis for her master's in occupational therapy. She has worked in a variety of settings as an OT including Children's Hospital in Washington, D.C., in schools, outpatient clinics and early intervention. She has been working with BARC Developmental Services since 2013.
Jonathan Hott, MD, FACS, FAANS

Dr. Jonathan Hott is a board-certified, fellowship-trained neurosurgeon who specializes in the treatment of all conditions of the spine. He graduated with distinction from the University of Michigan and went on to earn his medical degree from the Wayne State University School of Medicine.

Jarrett Irons is a seasoned sales executive, founder, entrepreneur, business collaborator, and board advisor, boasting 25 years of expertise in establishing strategic business synergies and cultivating valuable growth opportunities across diverse sectors.
During the initial phases of his career, Irons forged connections within the competitive realms of business and talent management, directing portfolios for top-tier sports personalities and Fortune 500 enterprises. Seeking to combine his business expertise with a passion for athletics, he then transitioned to the orthopaedic device sales sector, where he built a successful team overseeing a multi-million dollar portfolio.
Presently, Irons continues to lead and expand innovative sales initiatives in medical device sales while also co-founding Omada Ventures, a firm specializing in strategic sales network solutions. Omada Ventures facilitates business scalability across various sectors, including health and wellness, athletics, sustainability, manufacturing, construction, and human services, by identifying and leveraging synergies between companies and systems.
Esteemed in both professional and personal circles, Irons holds advisory positions on several revered boards, including Hall of Fame Health for former NFL players; the University of Michigan Concussion Center, guiding clinical and research efforts; and Hail! Impact, accelerating NIL initiatives at the university. Additionally, he serves on the boards of "For Those Who Stayed," aiding former U-M athletes; G.E.A.R., supporting athletic programs in Detroit; and dedicated a decade to the U-M School of Kinesiology Alumni Society Board.
Irons is an energetic public speaker, renowned for discussions on life post-sports and local charitable endeavors. He regularly features on Distinctly Detroit, delving into the experiences of U-M community members. Additionally, he is a recurring guest on Michigan Insider and The M Zone podcasts.
Damian Lee

Dr. Lee is currently a tenured associate professor and department chair of prosthodontics at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. He received his bachelor's and dental degree from the University of Michigan and completed his prosthodontics training at the University of Illinois-Chicago. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics. Dr. Lee has been part of dental education since 2007 and has taught in all levels in both predoctoral and postgraduate education.
Prior to joining Tufts University, Dr. Lee worked as the program director for the Advanced Prosthodontics Program at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry. Dr. Lee has conducted many research projects in various aspects of prosthodontics and has published numerous manuscripts in peer-reviewed prosthodontics journals in the areas of dental implants, CAD/CAM digital dentistry, dental lasers, and retrospective outcome studies. He also services as a reviewer for major prosthodontics journals, as well as a site visitor for Commission of Dental Accreditation, reviewing advanced education in prosthodontics programs. He has also served as an officer for various dental organizations, such as American College of Prosthodontists, American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics, and American Dental Education Association.

Shawn Regan

Shawn Regan is co-founder and chairman of Rhythmlink International, LLC. After more than a decade of experience in the medical device and medical services fields, he and a partner created Rhythmlink to meet the needs of neurophysiologic end-users whom he discovered were underserved by both large and small medical device companies. Shawn is passionate about combining customer needs with innovative engineering solutions to improve patient care and reduce medical costs.
Scott Schrimscher

Scott Schrimscher earned his bachelor's degree at the University of Michigan, where he played football for the Wolverines. After graduating, he began his career with EXOS, first in Phoenix, then Chicago, and now in Manhattan Beach, CA. Schrimscher is currently the vice president of strategic accounts at EXOS, with more than a decade of experience supporting a broad range of clients including youth athletes, professional athletes, and Olympians, and high performing teams such as the U.S. Navy, Intel, SKLZ, Precor, and Adidas. He also serves on the Alumni Society Board for the U-M School of Kinesiology.
Jayson Terres, DDS, MD, FACS, FAACS

A native of Michigan, Dr. Jayson Terres attended the University of Michigan where he received a bachelor's degree in neurobiology. Following his undergraduate degree, he attended Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, School of Dental and Oral Surgery, in New York City and earned a DDS.
After his dental surgery training, Dr. Terres moved to San Antonio, TX, where he earned his MD at the University of Texas Health Science Center. Following this, he completed an internship in general surgery and then a six-year residency program in oral and maxillofacial surgery. Dr. Terres also performs a full spectrum of facial rejuvenation procedures through surgical techniques including endoscopic brow and forehead lifts, eyelid surgery, facelifts, chin augmentation, and liposuction, and also through non-surgical procedures such as Restylane, Botox, chemical peels, and skin care.
