Q: What's the most meaningful or satisfying aspect of your work?
A: Having the opportunity to work with students one-on-one and support them in their academic journey is one of the most fulfilling aspects of working as an advisor. As a former elementary school teacher, I enjoy bringing my educational perspective to guide students in all aspects of their development, and love learning about their unique interests and passions.
Q: Which states and/or countries have you lived in? Which was your favorite, and why?
A: I have lived in Massachusetts, Maine, Chile (Santiago), and now Michigan. Maine is my favorite because I love the ocean and my people there.
Q: How do you balance your time between the demands of your work and personal life?
A: When I'm not in the office, I enjoy spending time outside to recharge. I especially love anything water-related and am an avid swimmer regardless of the temperature! I'm also a huge book nerd, and reading is one of my favorite ways to unplug and keep myself feeling balanced after many hours working with people and on screens.
Q: What's your favorite thing about our school and why?
A: I have really loved the small, tight-knit community in Kinesiology. In our student services office specifically, members of our team come from many different professional paths, but we all share a common mission in supporting our students together.
Q: If you could go on vacation anywhere, where would it be and why?
A: I think I would pick Peru. I'm very interested in the gastronomic culture there and would love to travel more around South and Central America.
