Q: Out of everything you're working on right now, what are you most excited about and why?
A: I'm very excited to be able to blend my background in exercise science and computer science to produce meaningful work to benefit my lab and the school. The project I'm most excited about has to do with task integration, automation, and synchronization in room 1600, including force plates, motion capture, and more.
Q: What's the most meaningful or satisfying aspect of your work?
A: The most satisfying part of my work is seeing how using my computer science background can benefit others' workflows and free up their time for more complex tasks. For example, by automating data entry and analytics other lab members can spend more time performing other tasks to benefit the lab.
Q: What's your favorite thing about our school and why?
A: The school spirit! When I was applying to colleges in 2018, Michigan stood out to me for the sense of community and school spirit, which is present in the university as a whole and the School of Kinesiology. It's what made me want to come back after graduation!
Q: Which states and/or countries have you lived in? Which was your favorite, and why?
A: I grew up in NJ in Bergen County (~15 minutes driving to NYC), did my undergrad in Ann Arbor, and had the opportunity to intern in Chicago last summer. Of these, my favorite experience was living in Ann Arbor since I was surrounded by so many friends and have always felt super comfortable during my time here.
Q: What's one fun or surprising thing about you?
A: In 2018, I won 3 national medals in Olympic weightlifting, and that preparation/competition experience really opened my eyes to the field of exercise science and kinesiology.
