Becca Krombeen

Name: Becca Krombeen
Title: Senior academic advisor
Q: What's one thing about your work that might surprise people or that people might not know much about?
A: One of the projects I manage in OUSA is athletic attestations. I have a background in NCAA compliance so I review our student-athletes every semester for eligibility purposes. I have to evaluate every individual course a student-athlete is enrolled in for degree applicability.
Q: What's the most meaningful or satisfying aspect of your work?
A: I think the most satisfying part of the job is seeing a student that you've worked with for many years accomplish their goals. I love that in Kinesiology I work with students from day one of orientation all the way through graduation. It's also very satisfying to see students land their dream jobs or gain admission to their top graduate school.
Q: What's your favorite thing about our school and why?
A: As a proud graduate of the School of Kinesiology, I love our academic programs (special shout out to SM!). As a staff member, I love the emphasis on collaboration across departments and community engagement. I really enjoy working on projects with faculty and staff outside of OUSA or opportunities to enjoy each other's company at school social events.
Q: If you could go on vacation anywhere, where would it be and why?
A: Australia & New Zealand! Australia for the Australian Open — I'm working on attending all of the Grand Slams — and New Zealand for all of the Lord of the Rings tours. 100% chance I buy a replica sword.
Q: What's one thing you'd like to brag about?
A: In 2018 I won the Marie Hartwig Award for Best Female All Around Intramural Athlete. You can find my name on a plaque at the Intramural Sports Building.
