The evolution of women's soccer management

Sport management faculty member Stefan Szymanski spoke with the New York Times about the expansion of women's soccer ownership.

As the co-author of Soccernomics, a widely lauded book that explains soccer through the lens of data, Sport Management Professor Stefan Szymanski is often asked to offer economic context for stories on significant shifts in the sport.

Here, he lends his expertise to a New York Times piece about Y. Michele Kang, who is "set to become the first woman to own and lead a multiteam soccer organization, which will encompass both the [Washington] Spirit and the French club Olympique Lyonnais," according to the article.
