ABOUT KIDSPORT INCLUSIVE CAMPS
KidSport Inclusive Camps offer children ages 4-11 the opportunity to learn and play a variety of team sports, individual sports, team-building games, fitness and other physical education activities, in a non-competitive and fun sports environment. The activities are age-appropriate and developed by experts in children’s physical education.
All KidSport Summer Camps are staffed by certified teachers, Applied Exercise Science and Education majors, University of Michigan students and athletes, and other highly qualified individuals focused on providing a first-rate experience for your kids! Prior to camp, KidSport staff receive training from Kerry Winkelseth, Dr. Haylie Miller, UM-DPSS (Division of Public Safety & Security), UMAISE (University of Michigan Adaptive & Inclusive Sports Experience), and receive American Red Cross certification.

KIDSPORT INCLUSIVE CAMP DAILY OPTIONS
To register for a full day of KidSport Inclusive select the am and pm session for your desired week(s). As an add on you can also register for the supervised lunch time period and/or aftercare.
KidSport Inclusive Summer Fun Mornings
Ages 4-11, 8:00am-Noon, $200/week (2024 Pricing)
Fun, action-packed games, activities, fitness, team building, and sports. A little bit of something for every kid! Campers will be grouped according to age. Daily instructional swim lessons and water safety activities.
Supervised Lunch Period ("Add on" during registration)
Ages 4-11, Noon-1:00pm, $25/week (2024 Pricing)
Lunch will be supervised by KidSport staff. Food is NOT provided by KidSport Camps, children should bring a packed lunch each day. A quiet activity will be provided to accompany lunch.
KidSport Inclusive Summer Fun Afternoons
Ages 4-6, 1:00pm-4:00pm, $160/week (2024 Pricing)
Each week, campers experience a brand new, active, and fun theme, filled with age appropriate physical activities, games, and crafts. The afternoons will also include instructional swim lessons.

KidSport Inclusive Athletics Afternoons
Ages 7-11, 1:00pm-4:00pm, $160/week (2024 Pricing)
Each week features a different sport, teaching basic, fundamental skills, rules, team building and sportsmanship. The afternoons will also include instructional swim lessons.

FAQs
How do I register my child for KidSport?
You may register your child on CampDoc.
Can I register my child for a full day of camp?
Yes! If you would like your child to attend for a full day, please register them for the am AND pm session of the week(s) they will be attending. You should also register for the add on of supervised lunch session if your child will be bringing their lunch and eating at camp.
Do you offer after-camp care?
Yes! Aftercare is available for campers enrolled in the afternoon sessions, and is available between 4-5pm, for $50 per week.
When does registration close?
Registration closes weekly on Thursdays for camp the following Monday. If there is space available, we are often able to accommodate late registrations. Please email [email protected] for assistance registering.
When is payment due?
Payment in full is due no later than the Thursday before your child's week of camp. If payment has not been received, your registration will be canceled and your account will incur $35 cancellation fee.
What does my child need to bring to KidSport?
Your child should bring:
- A backpack that they can carry
- Water bottle
- Snack (2 snacks if staying all day, 3 snacks if staying for after care)
- Lunch (if camper has registered for lunch)
- Hat
- Sunscreen
- Gym shoes/sneakers (no open toe shoes, flip-flops, etc..)
- Comfortable clothing
- Backpack
- Bathing suit
- Towel
We are a nut-free camp (Nut-free guidelines). Please do not pack peanuts, tree nuts, sesame, or hummus.
What if my camper has allergies, medications, or special needs?
Please enter all pertinent information when registering on CampDoc. Epi-pens and asthma inhalers will remain with the camper in their backpack and tagged. Any other medication must be given to the Camp Director upon arrival for safekeeping.
If your child needs special accommodations or there is any additional information you feel we should know about your child, please send the Assistant Director ([email protected]) an email the week prior to camp with details or to set up a phone call. We greatly appreciate any information you can share with us, and this gives us time to prepare and ensure the best camp experience possible.
All of our camp counselors are American Red Cross certified in Adult & Pediatric CPR/AED, First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens, and Asthma/Epi-Pen Administration.
KidSport Adaptive Summer Camps. KidSport Adaptive is specifically designed to address the modifications that may be needed by children with neurodevelopmental or physical differences. Children who have higher support needs may have a more engaged, comfortable experience in KidSport Adaptive than they would in KidSport Summer Camps.

How do you group campers and what is your to counselor-to-camper ratio?
Campers are placed in groups by age and/or ability. If the camper would like to be grouped with a friend, please enter that information on CampDoc during registration.
Our counselor-to-camper ratio is no more than 1:10.
Where do I drop-off and pick-up my child?
Camp takes place at Ypsilanti Community High School, 2095 Packard St, Ypsilanti, MI. Drop-off and pick-up is on the south side of the building, please use the "Delivery Entrance" drive off of Hewitt St. Look for our KidSport flags and KidSport sandwich board!
Cars may pull up in the circle drive and a staff member will meet you at your car. If you need to speak to a staff member, please park in the parking lot and wait until campers from the car line have all been taken care of.
What if I need to change my registration? What is your cancellation and refund policy?
Registration change requests should be sent to Jodi Tye ([email protected]).
Cancellations must be requested thru CampDoc at least seven (7) days before the start date of the camp to receive a refund. Refund requests will not be considered after that. Please double-check your schedule before submitting your registration, as ALL cancellations will incur a $25 cancellation fee per child. Refunds will be issued to the credit card used during registration. We are not able to issue credits, or pro-rate refunds for student absences.
If a camper is unable to attend camp due to a COVID-related issue, please email Jodi Tye ([email protected]) as soon as possible and we will work with the family to transfer registration to an alternate week.
In the event KidSport cancels camp, a full refund will be issued to participants.
Do you offer scholarships?
Yes, we offer need-based scholarships. More information is available on CampDoc when registering or email [email protected].
Throughout the year, Kinesiology Community Programs offers KidSport Huddles to raise money for the Jeff Reese KidSport Scholarship Fund. We are proud to offer scholarships to children who receive free/reduced meals, or meet specific HUD income guidelines. The Jeff Reese KidSport Scholarship is designed to assist families with children to meet the cost of the KidSport Summer Camps program. Scholarships are awarded based on evaluation of the provided information, and how much funding we were able to raise during the year. Information is available in CampDoc during registration.

HEALTH & SAFETY PRACTICES
If your child is sick and/or has a fever, please keep them home until they are feeling better and have been fever free for at least 24 hours. More information can be found on U-M Health Response and Children on Campus websites.
