“Research scholarship best describes my central career focus. “My research explores hormonal and metabolic mechanisms involved in partitioning of nutrient energy among growth, body mass and energy storage depots, and exercise and metabolic energy expenditure. Undergraduate and graduate students can learn endocrine methods and get involved in analysis of exercise-induced endocrine changes in my Exercise Endocrinology Laboratory.”

Areas of Interest

Exercise endocrinology: the hormonal, metabolic, and psychophysical consequences of acute exercise-associated energy expenditure; hormonal, metabolic and cardiovascular effects of training in aging.
