Erin Neaton, PhD

About

Dr. Erin Neaton is a clinical assistant professor of sport management at the University of Michigan School of Kinesiology. She studies skill acquisition and expertise using both player statistics and in-person data collection, and has extensive technical and data analysis skills.

Dr. Neaton has collaborated with the Athletic Injury and Rehabilitation Labs at the Michigan State University School of Kinesiology to identify factors related to successful recovery from injury. She also worked for the Detroit Lions as a football information analyst in their Player Personnel Department and developed and taught a sports analytics course for Michigan State’s Sports Analytics Graduate Certificate Program.

Dr. Neaton earned her PhD in cognition and cognitive neuroscience from Michigan State University and completed a dual-bachelor’s degree in information science and psychology at the University of Michigan.
