Szymanski blogs for the Financial Times: Manchester United

Stephen J. Galetti Collegiate Professor of Sport Management explained in a Financial Times blog, that, had Manchester United fans actually gotten what they wanted, it could have been disastrous for the league and the club.

"For the past seven years a significant proportion of Manchester United fans have campaigned against the Glazer family’s ownership of the club. While United executives are on a roadshow in the US aiming to raise $300m via an initial public offering that would value the club at up to $3.3bn, fan groups such as the Manchester United Supporters Trust are warning investors that the shares will pay no dividends and they are trying to organise a boycott of club sponsors."
