OATS, Food Gatherers Team Up for NATM

The Organization of Athletic Training Students (OATS) has teamed up with local food bank Food Gatherers for a food drive to observe National Athletic Training Month during March.

Brittany Carlin, OATS spokesperson, said her group is doing this to give back to the community and to make the Kinesiology student body more aware of what athletic trainers are and do. This is the first year they are holding this effort, but they hope to expand in the future to include the general student population and possibly compete against other schools.

This year's theme for National Athletic Training Month is "Everybody needs an athletic trainer," and the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) invites people to learn more and follow conversations by using #NATM13on Twitter.
