Armstrong Receives Charles D Henry Award


Dr. Ketra Armstrong, Associate Dean for Graduate and Faculty Affairs and Professor of Sport Management, was recently recognized by SHAPE America with the Charles D. Henry Award for distinguished service.

To be considered for the Charles D. Henry award, the recipient shall have:

  • Demonstrated a record of increasing involvement of ethnic minorities in SHAPE America.
  • Demonstrated a record of increasing communications with greater numbers of SHAPE America ethnic minority members.
  • Demonstrated a record of extending meaningful professional services to SHAPE America ethnic minority members

SHAPE America is the Society of Health and Physical Educators, and was formerly known as the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD). The Charles D. Henry Award was established in 1984.

Dr. Armstrong received her award at the 130th Annual SHAPE America National Convention & Expo in Seattle, WA.
