“Transferring to Kinesiology at Michigan was a smooth transition for me both socially and academically.”
Liam -- Sport Management '11
Ann Arbor, MI

Liam is interested in sport marketing and research.

What are your future career plans?
I would like to initially work in professional sports in a front office job such as marketing. After gaining some experience in the field and completing law school, I would consider providing legal representation for either athletes or teams.

Where do you see yourself in ten years?
Either practicing law within the sporting or corporate world, or doing sport business related research.

How was your transfer to University of Michigan as a transfer student?
Transferring to Kinesiology at Michigan was a smooth transition for me both socially and academically. It took little time to feel I had assimilated into the Kinesiology community. With small classes and a wide variety of ways to get involved, it was almost impossible not to form friendships. The Kinesiology faculty and staff were readily available and willing to help me. I became a face and name, not just a student ID and a GPA.

Why did you decide to study in Kinesiology instead of a business school?
I would love to work in the world of sports. In Sport Management, I learn about business principles and how they apply to the world of sports. Upon completing the degree program I will be more knowledgeable and competitive to seek a job in the sporting world. Nevertheless, the degree is also flexible enough to offer me opportunities in fields outside of sports.
