How has Kinesiology/SM prepared you?
The great thing about Kinesiology is the classes are not big and students get an opportunity to know their professors. Kinesiology, and especially Sport Management, has taught me to prepare professional presentations and speak in front of large groups in a professional well- thought out manner. These skills will definitely be essential to me in my future endeavors.
How did you adjust being in Michigan when you are from California?
The adjustment wasn't too difficult because I had plenty of support. I'm glad that I am in the Kinesiology program, because the relationships that I have developed with my professors and academic advisor are invaluable. The academic advisors really go over and beyond to help you in your college experience. |
What are your future career plans?
I plan to get into public relations after graduate school. Right now, I am also interested in advertising and marketing. I would love to work for a dance company in their public relations department. Since you just started at Michigan a year ago, what advice woud you give to a high school student?
I would advise college-bound high school students to keep their options open. A few years ago, I wanted to be a physical therapist but now my plans have changed. College is not only a place where one will gain knowledge, it is a place where one will more than likely find their purpose in life. That's why college is such an exciting experience. |
