“Kinesiology is really a unique school on campus and I think it is important to be involved to get the most out of what the school has to offer.”

Bolaji -- Movement Science '10
Shreveport, LA

Bolaji has participated in research with the Artificial Heart Laboratory.

Why did you choose to study Movement Science at U-M?
When I was applying I discovered Kinesiology and Movement Science and it appealed to my interests. I am very interested in human anatomy and physiology and I thought that the Movement Science curriculum would expose me to various aspects of anatomy and physiology that I wouldn't get anywhere else on campus. I was also excited to study a pre-health major that was not the typical biology, chemistry, or psychology based major.

What are your future career plans?
I hope to become an orthopedic surgeon or to study sports medicine.

What advice do you have for prospective students?
I would tell incoming students to get involved in Kinesiology! Kinesiology is really a unique school on campus and I think it is important to be involved to get the most out of what the school has to offer.

What extra-curricular activities are you involved in at U-M?
I have participated in research with the School of Nursing and the Artificial Heart Laboratory. I am also a Kinesiology Peer Mentor, Student Tutor, and Peer Advisor. I’m also Vice President of the African Students Association.
