Before you arrive on campus for Orientation, you should complete the following tasks:

  1. Make a list of Kinesiology courses that match your interests and skills. Check out our majors and the great careers they prepare you for.

  2. Download this worksheet and shop for courses discussed below in Steps 2 and 3.

  3. Look at courses fulfilling Distribution Requirements. Most courses fulfilling Humanities, Natural Sciences, and Social Sciences requirements will be taken in the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts (LSA). Visit the LSA Course Guide site to see which courses qualify (HU, NS, and SS will be indicated next to REQS).

  4. Take our Academic Integrity Quiz. You will not be allowed to register until you have completed this quiz.

  5. Complete the Academic Planning and Interest Questionnaire online as soon as possible. This will help you identify your interests and the subjects you would like to pursue at the University of Michigan. It will also help your academic advisor get to know you before you even get here.

  6. Take the Math Placement Test at least 72 hours prior to your orientation.

  7. Take the Sweetland Writing Center Self-Placement.

  8. Walk through registration using this online module.
