KidSport offers children ages 4–15 the opportunity to learn and refine non-competitive sport-specific skills, team building, and social skills. Activities may include swimming (instructional and play), cooperative games, individual sports and fitness building activities. The activities are age- and developmentally-appropriate, and are developed by experts in children's physical education. Camp is open to all children and scholarships are available.
U-Meet the Athlete gives children ages 5-12 the opportunity to participate in sport clinics with University of Michigan varsity student-athletes. The goal is to have fun while stressing the importance of mastering sport-specific fundamentals, doing well in school, and living a healthy lifestyle. All proceeds go to the Jeff Reese KidSport Scholarship Fund which provides scholarships for disadvantaged kids to attend the University of Michigan's KidSport Summer Camp program.
PE Workshop is held once annually each December for K-12 physical educators. The goal of these workshops is to provide ready-to-implement ideas and practices teachers can take right back to their classroom in the areas of health, physical education, recreation, sports and athletics, dance, professional development, and adapted activity.
This is a free UMove Fitness physical activity program held at Briarwood Mall in Ann Arbor four times a week for older adults or those less physically conditioned. Contact the U-Move office to learn more.
