The School of Kinesiology is partnering with online auction provider Bidding for Good to offer a range of items -- the proceeds from which will directly benefit undergraduate student scholarships.
Conceived and sponsored by the Kinesiology Alumni Society, the first auction, launched in 2007, raised funds in honor of former Professor Bernard “Pat” Maloy, who passed away in 2001. MGoAuction.com was expanded in 2009, 2011, and now, in 2013.
The auction runs Monday, October 14 through Thursday, November 21, 2013.

Behind the Auction
In light of recent economic upheavals, this auction now benefits two other financial need-based Kinesiology undergraduate scholarships -- the Shelly Kovacs Scholarship and the KAS Governors Scholarship.
National and state-sponsored support for education has declined dramatically over the past five years, causing hardships for many. And borrowing money for college is more difficult for students because, unlike other forms of debt, student loans cannot be discharged through bankruptcy -- and defaulted loans can follow a student for life.
“With increasing financial hardships at home, we have witnessed more students seeking assistance. MGoAuction has opened a whole new avenue for us to fundraise for student scholarships, which will allow us to help so many more students who are enrolled at the School.”
All proceeds directly benefit U-M undergraduate scholarships to educate the future Leaders and Best.
