On a recent trip to Seoul, South Korea, Dr. Dae Hee Kwak, assistant professor of Sport Management, presented at two sessions during the Major League Soccer (MLS) Forum.
About 300 participants from Korean sport industry attended the forum, held December 17 and 18, 2014. The forum was organized by Kyunghyang Newspaper and sponsored by K-League (Korea Professional Football League); Rossetti, a Detroit-based architecture firm specializing in sports venues (http://www.rossetti.com/); and the South Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism (http://www.mcst.go.kr/english/index.jsp).
Invited panelists were Charlie Shin, Senior Director, Strategic Planning & Research, Major League Soccer; Taylor Graham, Senior Director, Business Operations, Seattle Sounders FC; Mikkel Strojer, Director of Marketing, Vancouver Whitecaps FC; Sung Jung, Senior Associate, Rossetti; and Dr. Kwak.
"It was great to engage with other MLS executives at the forum, and they were really interested in my sponsorship course's (SM 439: Sponsorship-Linked Marketing) academia-industry partnership projects," Dr. Kwak said.
