The U-M Board of Regents approved plans Thursday to renovate the Kraus Natural Sciences Building into a new home for the School of Kinesiology.
Now home to the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and the Department of Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology, those units will move into the new Biological Science Building, now being constructed between the Dental School and Museum of Natural History. That building will be completed in 2018.
Once that move takes place, renovations to the Kraus Building will go forward. Current plans estimate that Kinesiology will move into Kraus sometime in 2020. The move will allow all Kinesiology offices, labs, and classrooms -- now housed in CCRB, Observatory Lodge, and leased space -- to be consolidated into one building.
