The School of Kinesiology's Graduate Program is flexible and designed to provide you with courses and experiences tailored to your scholarly interests. We offer 5 areas of research:

  • Biomechanics
  • Exercise Physiology
  • Motor Control and Development
  • Sport Management
  • Sport Medicine

The research conducted here in Kinesiology covers a broad range since the nature of human movement encourages partnerships with life science disciplines such as medicine, neuroscience, and bioengineering as well as business, education and the social sciences.



The Doctoral Program leads to the highest degree awarded by the School of Kinesiology and the University. The program seeks to develop scholarly and research competence, and culminates in an original doctoral dissertation that adds to the body of knowledge in Kinesiology. The program is designed for those students who intend to make their careers as scholars, teachers, researchers, and professionals in kinesiology or allied fields.

Students in the Masters of Science: Comprehensive Track study human movement in depth from different perspectives. The strength of this program is its flexibility; working directly with advisors, students can design programs to meet their particular interests.

The mission of the Masters of Arts: Sport Management Track is to offer students diverse educational experiences that will prepare them for career opportunities in the multidimensional sport industry. This includes developing a background in areas such as leadership, management, marketing, law, and finance, as well as experiences that allow students to integrate knowledge from these diverse areas. Students of the program will develop skills to enable them to successfully pursue management positions in professional, collegiate, and Olympic sports, as well as related opportunities within the corporate sector.
