U-M MHIRT (Minority Health & Health Disparities International Research Training) program for summer 2010. Deadline: November 18, 2009. MHIRT fellowships are fully-funded research projects related to child health inequalities in Chile, China, Jamaica, or Ghana. Applicants must have demonstrated professional commitment to working to reduce health disparities, or be a member of a population impacted by health disparities, such as Native American or African American. MHIRT is administered by the Center for Human Growth and Development and draws from the expertise of its interdisciplinary faculty, including Professor of Movement Science Dr. Beverly Ulrich. Faculty mentors from many disciplines, including Kinesiology, Public Health, Social Work, Psychology, Chinese Studies, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics/Gynecology and Pediatrics & Communicable Diseases are available.
