How did you find this program?
Web site search and through friends.
Courses taken:
Global Studies (a basic geography course); History of Art; Medical Sociology; Sociology of Asia and the Pacific Rim
Would you recommend this program?
YES! This experience is truly amazing. It is great for students who cannot pick one country that they would like to study abroad in. With Semester At Sea, one visits 10 countries in 3.5 months.
Advice:
In terms of planning trips in the countries, I would have waited to plan them on my own in the countries that we visited later on in the trip. It's so easy to find a group of people who want to travel on their own and are willing to plan their own interary.
Fluency required?
Not an issue (English spoken).
Will this help you in your profession?
To Sport Management specifically, I was able to see the importance and the role that sports play in other cultures, mainly the sport of soccer.
Comments:
The one quote that was said to us throughout our whole voyage was from Gandhi, “You must be the change that you wish to see in the world.”
