Areas of Interest

Short Description: Social psychological influences of sport on consumer behavior and intercollegiate athletic policy regarding academic integrity.

Dr. Basten's primary research interest focuses on understanding how and why people identify with sport teams and sport-related consumer product companies and the effects of identification on individual and organizational behavior. He also studies intercollegiate athletic policy-making in the context of academic integrity.
