Mr. Dolan will discuss several important aspects of the business side of professional sports, including: (1) the Indians’ decision to form their own network; (2) relocating spring training facilities to Arizona to develop new business activities; (3) modifications to a state-of-the-art ballpark built in 1994 to remain competitive; (4) economic challenges facing mid-level market teams in the current recession; and (5) options the league has to help teams through the recession, when certain regions are more impacted than others.
There will be time for questions and discussion. Open to Kinesiology students and alumni.
